Student Drop-off
Caregivers are responsible for walking their students into our facility for drop-off.
Omaha Girls Rock is unable to supervise students that are not engaged in a lesson and OGR is not responsible for supervision outside of direct instruction/engagement in our programming.
Please arrive no earlier than 10-minutes before your scheduled lesson with Omaha Girls Rock.
If your student arrives at their lesson 10-minutes late, their lesson will end at the scheduled time, no extensions. (Example: 3:30-4:00 lesson, student arrives at 3:10. Lesson ends at 4:00, not 4:10 p.m.)
Student Pick-up
Caregivers are responsible for walking into our facility for pick-up immediately following the conclusion of the lesson. Students are not allowed to exit our building alone.
Omaha Girls Rock is unable to supervise students that are not engaged in a lesson and are not responsible for their supervision outside of their direct instruction/engagement in our programming.
Non-emergency lateness in picking-up your student will result in an additional charge for your Teaching Artist’s (TA) time.
This will be billed at the discretion of OGR in increments of $15 per 15-minute period.
Lesson Cancellation Policy
Enrolled students will receive one make-up lesson per semester. OGR must be contacted 24-hours prior to the scheduled lesson time in order to receive the make-up lesson.
Please notify your Teaching Artist as soon as possible with known-conflicts such as scheduled holidays, religious observation, family events, school events. If these conflicts occur during OGR’s operating schedule (listed below), and you have communicated this absence ahead of time, your Teaching Artist will provide your student an asynchronous lesson.
If your Teaching Artist needs to cancel a lesson, they will provide an asynchronous lesson or activity for your student.
If lessons are cancelled by OGR due to a weather emergency, natural disaster etc. we ask that you prioritize instrument practice during your lesson time. In the event of this type of emergency, we will not provide an asynchronous lesson or a make-up lesson unless otherwise communicated by OGR.
All of this being said, being a human is HARD! In the event of an emergency, unplanned life event, sudden illness etc. contact your instructor as soon as possible and follow up with info@omahagirlsrock.com and/or (402) 235-8122. No call/ no shows to a lesson will be considered a forfeited lesson and do not qualify for a make-up.
Make-Up Lesson
Make-up lessons can be rescheduled at the Teaching Artist’s suggestion. Make-up lessons are also built into our schedule for Instrument Instruction! Our Make-Up Week occurs December 16th-20th.
If a make-up lesson is scheduled, it will not be rescheduled a second time and will be considered forfeited.
If you have any questions regarding make-up lessons, email info@omahagirlsrock.com and/or call or text (402) 235-8122.
Holidays, Breaks & Inclement Weather
OGR observes all federal holidays and does not hold classes on these days (MLK Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Labor Day, etc.)
OGR follows the school calendar of Omaha Public Schools and does not hold classes on days when there are scheduled breaks (fall break, winter break, spring break, etc.) Note: OGR does hold classes on teacher work-days and conferences.
OGR also follows the school closings of Omaha Public Schools. In the event of inclement weather and OPS cancels school, the OGR lessons are also canceled and do not qualify for a make-up.
Gear
OGR happily loans any and all necessary instruments and/or accessories to students enrolled in our programs. Simply visit the gear loan section of our website or email info@omahagirlsrock.com and/or call the OGR Hotline at (402) 235-8122.
OGR does not provide accessories for gear, instruments, and/or equipment outside of our gear loan program. We are happy to make recommendations of affordable, local businesses to support all of your needs. Just ask!
